Add a blank page to a PDF — anywhere you need one

Add Blank Page inserts one or more genuinely empty pages into your PDF, exactly where you want them: at the very start or end, after or before any page you name, or between every page at once. Set how many to add and where, and the new pages are woven in. It's handy for a cover or back page, leaving room for notes, separating sections, or making sure a document prints correctly double-sided.

By default each blank page matches the size of the page next to it, so it fits right in, but you can force a fixed size instead — A4, US Letter, or US Legal. The pages are created with pdf-lib (a true blank page, not a copy), entirely in your browser, so your file is never uploaded and never leaves your device. Unlock a password-protected PDF first, since encrypted files can't be read without the password.

Frequently asked questions

Are my PDF files uploaded to a server?
No. Blank pages are inserted entirely in your browser using pdf-lib. Your file never leaves your device. You can confirm it in your browser's Network tab: no file data is sent.
Where can I add blank pages?
At the start or end of the document, after or before any page you name, or between every page (one or more in each gap). Choose the position and the count.
What size are the blank pages?
By default each blank matches the size of the page next to it, so it fits right in. You can also force a fixed size: A4, US Letter, or US Legal.
Can I add several blank pages at once?
Yes. Set the number of blank pages to insert. With “Between every page”, that many are added in each gap. Very large requests are limited to keep your browser responsive.
Why would I add a blank page?
For a cover or back page, to leave room for notes, to separate sections, or so a document prints correctly double-sided.
Can it edit a password-protected PDF?
No. Unlock it first (with the Unlock PDF tool), then add pages. Encrypted files can't be read without the password.
Is Add Blank Page free?
Yes, it's completely free to use, with no sign-up and nothing to install.
