Convert Word to PDF: free, and nothing gets uploaded

Turn a .docx or .docm document into a shareable PDF without sending it to anyone's server. pdfcosmos renders your Word file and saves it as a PDF entirely in your browser, so a resume, a cover letter, or a confidential report stays on your device from start to finish.

It's a close, best-effort rendering (ideal for letters, resumes, and reports), though very complex layouts or unusual fonts may shift slightly, since the document is drawn in the browser rather than by Word itself. Each page is placed as a high-resolution image, so the PDF mirrors your document while the text isn't selectable in this version. Convert up to 30 files at once. Several arrive together as a ZIP.

  • Nothing is uploaded

Your Word document is rendered in the browser and never sent to a server. Check your Network tab as it converts.

  • Great for everyday documents

Letters, resumes, and reports convert cleanly. Very complex layouts are best-effort since the browser does the rendering.

  • .docx and .docm

Modern Word formats are supported. Save an older .doc as .docx first (no .odt or .rtf).

  • Batch into one ZIP

Convert up to 30 documents at once. Two or more download together as a single ZIP.

How to convert Word to PDF

  1. Add your Word file(s)

Click “Convert to PDF”. Each document is rendered and turned into a PDF, right in your browser.

  3. Download

Download your PDF (a ZIP for several). Nothing is ever uploaded.

Frequently asked questions

Are my Word files uploaded to a server?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser. Your documents never leave your device. You can confirm it in your browser's Network tab: no file data is sent.
Which Word formats are supported?
Modern Word documents: .docx and .docm. The older .doc format and OpenDocument (.odt/.ott) or .rtf aren't supported. To keep everything private and in your browser, we don't upload to a conversion server. If you have a .doc, open it in Word or Google Docs and save it as .docx first.
Will the PDF look exactly like my Word document?
It's a close, best-effort rendering, great for letters, resumes, and reports. Very complex layouts, unusual fonts, or exact page breaks may differ slightly, because the document is rendered in the browser rather than by Word itself.
Can I select or search the text in the PDF?
Not in this version. Each page is placed as a high-resolution image, so the PDF looks like your document but the text isn't selectable. This keeps the conversion fully private and in your browser.
Can I convert several documents at once?
Yes. Add up to 30 files. One file downloads as a PDF, and two or more download together as a single ZIP.
Is it free?
Yes, it's completely free to use, with no sign-up and nothing to install.
