Convert Excel to PDF: every sheet, entirely private

Turn an .xls or .xlsx workbook into a PDF that's easy to share and print, without sending a sensitive spreadsheet of figures to anyone's server. pdfcosmos renders it entirely in your browser, so your data stays on your device.

Every sheet in the workbook is converted, each starting on a new page captioned with its name, and all columns are scaled to fit the page width (pick A4 or Letter, and portrait, landscape, or Auto for wide sheets). It's a close, best-effort rendering: cell values, the grid, and merged cells come through. Cell colours, fonts, and conditional formatting aren't reproduced in this version, and pages are placed as images.

  • Converts every sheet

Each tab starts on a new page, captioned with its sheet name. Nothing is dropped.

  • Fits the page width

All columns scale to fit. Choose portrait, landscape, or Auto for wide sheets.

  • Nothing is uploaded

Your spreadsheet is rendered in the browser and never sent to a server.

  • .xls and .xlsx

Modern and legacy Excel workbooks. Save .ods or Numbers as .xlsx first.

How to convert Excel to PDF

  1. Add your Excel file(s)

Drop one (or up to 30) .xls or .xlsx spreadsheets into the upload area.

  2. Pick page size & orientation

Choose A4 or Letter and portrait, landscape, or Auto (landscape for wide sheets). Columns are always scaled to fit the page width.

  3. Convert & download

Click “Convert to PDF”. Every sheet is rendered (right in your browser) and downloaded as a PDF (a ZIP for several files).

Frequently asked questions

Are my Excel files uploaded to a server?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser. Your spreadsheets never leave your device. You can confirm it in your browser's Network tab: no file data is sent.
Which spreadsheet formats are supported?
Excel .xls and .xlsx. Other formats (OpenDocument .ods, CSV, Numbers) aren't supported here. To keep everything private and in your browser, we don't upload to a conversion server. Save or export them as .xlsx first.
Does it convert every sheet in the workbook?
Yes. Every sheet (tab) is converted, and each one starts on a new page captioned with its sheet name, so nothing is silently dropped.
Will the PDF look exactly like my spreadsheet?
It's a close, best-effort rendering: cell values, the grid, and merged cells are preserved, and all columns are scaled to fit the page width. Cell colours, fonts, and conditional formatting aren't reproduced in this version, because the spreadsheet is rendered in your browser rather than by Excel. Very wide sheets are shrunk to fit, so their text can look small.
Can I select or search the text in the PDF?
Not in this version. Each page is placed as a high-resolution image, so the PDF looks like your spreadsheet but the text isn't selectable. This keeps the conversion fully private and in your browser.
Can I convert several spreadsheets at once?
Yes. You can convert as many as 30 workbooks at once: one workbook downloads as a plain PDF, and multiple workbooks are delivered together in a ZIP.
