Get a PDF's tables into a plain .csv you can open in Excel, Google Sheets, or any data tool, without uploading a report or statement to a server. pdfcosmos extracts the data entirely in your browser, so your file stays on your device.

It's a best-effort extraction: the tool reads the PDF's text layer and starts a new column where it detects a wide gap, so clean, ruled tables usually come through well, while merged headers or tight columns can split imperfectly. A CSV holds one sheet, so all pages are stacked with a blank row between them (want one tab per page? use PDF to Excel). Scanned PDFs have no text to read. That needs OCR.

Frequently asked questions

Are my PDF files uploaded to a server?
No. The table/text is extracted and the CSV is built entirely in your browser. Your PDF never leaves your device. You can confirm it in your browser's Network tab.
Will the columns line up exactly like my PDF?
It's a best-effort extraction. The tool reads the PDF's text layer and starts a new column where it detects a wide gap between values, so clean, ruled tables usually come through well. Merged headers, wrapped multi-line cells, or tightly-spaced columns can split imperfectly, because a PDF stores text and positions, not a real table grid.
How are multiple pages handled?
A CSV file holds a single sheet, so all pages are placed one after another in the same file, with a blank row between pages. If you'd prefer one tab per page, use PDF to Excel and export to .xlsx.
Does it work on scanned PDFs?
No. Scanned pages are images with no text layer, so there's nothing to extract (that would need OCR). If a PDF has no selectable text, you'll get a clear message instead of an empty file.
What separator does the CSV use?
Standard commas, with values quoted when they contain commas, quotes, or line breaks, so it opens cleanly in Excel, Google Sheets, Numbers, and any data tool.
Can I convert several PDFs at once?
Yes. Add up to 30 PDFs. One file downloads as a .csv, and two or more download together as a single ZIP.
