Extract attachments from a PDF — get the embedded files back out

A PDF can carry whole other files tucked inside it — a spreadsheet, an image, a source document, or a set of files in a PDF “portfolio” — separate from the pages you see. Extract Attachments pulls those embedded files back out and hands them to you as their original files, saved exactly as they were stored, under their original filenames. There's nothing to configure: it finds every embedded file and extracts it.

One attachment downloads on its own; several download together as a ZIP. If a PDF has no embedded files (most don't), the tool simply tells you so — what you expected might instead be a file-attachment annotation, a linked (not embedded) file, or part of a portfolio your viewer opens differently. Extraction runs entirely in your browser with pdf.js, so your file is never uploaded and never leaves your device. Once you've saved the files, use Remove Attachments to strip them from the PDF.

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. The embedded files are read out entirely in your browser using pdf.js. Your file never leaves your device. You can confirm it in your browser's Network tab: no file data is sent.
