Reverse PDF page order, free and in your browser

Reversing a PDF flips its pages end to end, so the last page becomes the first. Nearly everyone who needs this has the same problem: a scanner fed the stack the wrong way round. A document feeder that takes the pile face-up, or a batch run from the back, produces a file that reads backwards. Rather than rescanning the whole thing or dragging pages one at a time, one pass puts the document back in reading order.

The pages themselves are copied exactly as they are. Text stays text, images keep their resolution, and nothing is re-rendered or recompressed, so a reversed scan is byte-for-byte as sharp as the original — only the order changes. One thing to know: bookmarks and internal links point at particular pages, and reversing moves every page, so an existing outline can end up aimed at the wrong spots.

There are no settings. Add up to 30 PDFs and each one is reversed independently — a single file comes back as a PDF, several as a ZIP — and it all runs locally through a WebAssembly build of qpdf, so nothing is uploaded. If you need something more selective than flipping the whole document, Organize Pages gives you a drag-and-drop grid for moving individual pages, and Split PDF plus Merge PDF will handle reversing just one section.

  • No quality loss

Pages are copied exactly — nothing is re-rendered or recompressed.

  • Up to 30 files at once

Each is reversed on its own; several come back as a single ZIP.

Frequently asked questions

Are my PDF files uploaded to a server?
No. Reversing happens entirely in your browser using WebAssembly (qpdf). Your file never leaves your device. You can confirm it in your browser's Network tab: no file data is sent.
What does reversing do?
It flips the page order so the last page becomes the first and the first becomes the last. Useful for documents scanned back-to-front.
Can I reverse several PDFs at once?
Yes. Add up to 30 PDFs. Each is reversed on its own. One file downloads as a PDF. Two or more download together as a single ZIP.
Does reversing reduce quality?
No. Only the page order changes. The page content is untouched, so there's no loss of quality.
My scanner fed the stack backwards. Is this the fix?
Yes, this is the common case. A document feeder that takes the pile face-up, or a batch scanned from the back, produces a PDF that runs last page to first. Reversing puts it right in one pass, without rescanning and without dragging pages around by hand.
Can I reverse only part of a PDF?
Not directly — this flips the whole document, which is what a back-to-front scan needs. For part of a file, use Split PDF or Extract Pages to pull out the section, reverse that, then put it back with Merge PDF. To move individual pages around instead, our Organize Pages tool gives you a drag-and-drop grid.
Does it also reverse a double-sided scan correctly?
It reverses whatever order the pages are actually in. A duplex scan that came out fully back-to-front is fixed by reversing. But a scan where all the fronts were captured first and then all the backs is a different problem — the pages need interleaving, not reversing — and Organize Pages is the tool for that.
Will bookmarks and links still work?
Page content, text, and images are copied exactly, so nothing is re-rendered or degraded. Bookmarks and internal links point at specific pages, though, and reversing moves every page, so an existing outline may end up pointing at the wrong places. You can rebuild one afterwards with our Edit PDF Bookmarks tool.
Is Reverse PDF free?
Yes, it's completely free to use, with no sign-up and nothing to install.
