Resize PDF pages — change the page size to A4, Letter, or a custom size

Resizing a PDF sets every page to a new physical size — A4, US Letter, US Legal, A3, A5, or a custom width and height you type in millimetres, inches, or points. Each page's content is scaled to fit the new dimensions with its proportions preserved, then centred, so nothing is stretched or squashed; if the target shape differs from the original you'll simply see an even margin rather than any distortion. It's the reliable way to standardise a mixed-size document to A4 before printing, or to fit an oversized page onto a smaller sheet.

You can resize a single PDF or up to 30 at once with the same settings — one file downloads as a PDF, several as a ZIP. Everything is redrawn locally in your browser with pdf-lib, so your file is never uploaded and never leaves your device. Note that this changes the page dimensions, not the file size in megabytes: if your goal is a smaller file to email or upload, use Compress PDF instead.

  • A4, Letter, Legal, or custom

Pick a standard size or type an exact width and height in mm, inches, or points.

  • No stretching or distortion

Content is scaled to fit and centred, keeping its proportions; odd shapes get an even margin.

  • Resize up to 30 at once

Apply the same size to many PDFs in one go; they download together as a ZIP.

  • Private by design

Pages are redrawn in your browser with pdf-lib. Your file never leaves your device.

How to resize PDF pages

  1. Add your PDF

Click “Add PDF”, or drag one or more PDFs into the upload area.

  2. Choose the new size

Pick A4, US Letter, US Legal, or a custom width and height, plus the orientation. Content is scaled to fit, keeping its proportions.

  3. Resize and download

Click “Resize PDF”. Every page is redrawn at the new size, all in your browser.

Frequently asked questions

Are my PDF files uploaded to a server?
No. Pages are resized entirely in your browser using pdf-lib. Your file never leaves your device. You can confirm it in your browser's Network tab.
What page sizes can I resize to?
A3, A4, A5, and A6, ISO B5, US Letter, US Legal, and Tabloid / Ledger (11 × 17 in), or any custom width and height you enter in millimetres, inches, or points.
Can I resize a PDF to A4?
Yes. Choose A4 as the target size and each page is redrawn at A4, with its content scaled to fit. The same works for US Letter and US Legal.
Does resizing stretch or distort my content?
No. Each page's content is scaled to fit the new size while keeping its proportions, then centred, so nothing is stretched or squashed. If the new page shape differs from the original, you may see a small even margin instead of any distortion.
How is this different from Compress PDF?
This tool changes the page dimensions (for example to A4). It does not aim to shrink the file size in megabytes. For that, use Compress PDF.
Can I resize several PDFs at once?
Yes. Add up to 30 PDFs. Each is resized with the same settings, and they download together as a ZIP. A single PDF downloads as one PDF.
Is it free?
Yes, it's completely free to use, with no sign-up and nothing to install.
