Draw on a PDF — freehand ink with a mouse, finger, or stylus

Draw on PDF turns any document into a canvas: open the draw pad, sketch your mark — a circle around a figure, an arrow, a correction, or your initials — pick a color, then drop the stroke onto the page and drag or resize it into place. The pad accepts mouse, touch, and pen input, so you can sketch with a fingertip on a phone, a stylus on a tablet, or a mouse on a desktop. Because the ink is placed freely, it works on any PDF, including a scanned or printed page with no text layer.

Each stroke is added as a transparent overlay and then drawn straight onto the page when you download, so it looks identical in every PDF reader. The whole thing runs locally in your browser with pdf.js and pdf-lib, so your file is never uploaded and never leaves your device. For typed text, checkmarks, and dates as well, use Fill & Sign; for a reusable saved signature, use Sign PDF.

How to draw on a PDF

  1. Add your PDF

    Click “Select PDF”, or drag a single file into the upload area. Any PDF works, even a flat scan.

  2. Draw your mark

    Click “Draw”, sketch on the pad, pick a color, then “Add to page” and drag it where you want it.

  3. Download

    Download your PDF. The drawing is drawn straight onto the page.

Frequently asked questions

Are my PDF files uploaded to a server?
No. Your PDF is rendered and edited entirely in your browser with pdf.js and pdf-lib. The file never leaves your device. You can confirm it in your browser's Network tab: no file data is sent.
Can I draw on a scanned PDF?
Yes. The drawing is placed freely on the page, so it works on any PDF, including a scanned or printed page that has no text layer. Just sketch your mark and drop it where you want it.
Can I draw with my finger or a stylus?
Yes. The draw pad works with mouse, touch, and pen input, so you can sketch with a finger on a phone or tablet or with a stylus, then resize and position the stroke on the page.
Can I edit or move the drawing after downloading?
The drawing is burned onto the page, so it isn't a separate layer you can click to edit later. Keep your original file if you may need to change it, and draw on a duplicate.
Can I also add text or a signature?
